To find out where corruption is the biggest problem in America, I used data from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to determine the number of public corruption convictions per 10,000 residents in all 50 states.
Using the EPA's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, I calculated the methane emissions per capita, as well as the percentage of each state that's covered in landfills, from the EPA's Landfill Methane Outreach Program.
For our list of coffee chains in the U.S., I started with the 20 chains that have at least 25 or more locations either within a state or in different parts of the country.
